FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ga. – Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King announced today that a residential structure on Pinehurst Road in Lavonia was destroyed by an evening fire on January 24th.
“Under direction of the Franklin County Magistrate Judge’s Office, officers from the Franklin County Marshal’s Office boarded up the residential structure due to its dangerous state of disrepair,” said Commissioner King. “Hours later, the structure was set ablaze in what has been determined to be an intentional fire. Anyone with information on this fire should call the Georgia Arson Control Hotline at 1-800-252-5804.”
In coordination with the State Fire Investigations Unit, a reward of up to $10,000 is offered for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for arson.
