PRESS RELEASE – Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King announced today that James Anthony Stamps, 53, of Carnesville, has been arrested on two counts of first-degree arson.
“On the morning of May 15th, a passing patrol officer from the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office reported a residential structure fire on Old Federal Road,” said Commissioner King. “A second home fire was called in less than an hour later on the nearby JH Shirley Road. After speaking with witnesses and reviewing surveillance footage from a local business, investigators identified Mr. Stamps as the primary suspect of the blazes.”
Mr. Stamps was arrested by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office on June 7th.
