PRESS RELEASE – On the evening of Monday, February 24, Franklin County 911 Dispatch received a call reporting a Home Invasion on Highway 17 in Lavonia.
Law Enforcement from the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, Lavonia Police Department, and Georgia State Patrol responded to the scene.
After an investigation by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, two residents of South Carolina were charged with Burglary (first degree) and Cruelty to Children (third degree).
The caller was arrested and charged with Possession of Schedule I with Intent to Distribute (THC Oil), Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute, and Cruelty to Children (third degree).
On Tuesday, February 25, 2025, and after additional investigation by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, search warrants were executed at that location and additional evidence was located and seized, including firearms, currency, and a vehicle.
Additional charges of Possession of Schedule I with Intent to Distribute (Psilocybin mushrooms), Possession of Schedule Il with Intent to Distribute (hydrocodone), Possession of Schedule IV (alprazolam).
Additional suspects and warrants will be forthcoming.
