FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ga. — A high-speed pursuit that began in Madison County came to an end in Franklin County Monday afternoon after deputies used stop sticks and a PIT maneuver to stop the fleeing driver.

According to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, the incident began around 3:50 p.m. when Madison County deputies attempted to stop a silver Toyota passenger car. The driver, identified as Jared Lonnie Moore of Forsyth, Georgia, refused to pull over and sped toward Franklin County along Highway 29.

Authorities said Moore drove through barricades and crossed a bridge that is still under construction before entering Franklin County. Deputies from both counties joined the chase. A Franklin County deputy deployed stop sticks, which deflated the car’s tires, but Moore continued to flee. Moments later, another Franklin County deputy executed a PIT maneuver, forcing the vehicle to a stop.

Moore was arrested at the scene and faces multiple charges, including theft of a motor vehicle.

Franklin County Sheriff Scott Andrews praised the teamwork between agencies, noting that the pursuit was resolved without injury to other motorists.
