FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ga. — The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office responded to multiple incidents over the past week, including a barricaded gunman situation and a separate burglary investigation that resulted in several arrests.
According to officials, deputies from both the Patrol Division and Criminal Investigations Division attempted to serve an arrest warrant on Jim Grizzle Road on Friday, March 20. During the operation, law enforcement encountered a barricaded individual, prompting a heightened response.
Authorities said the situation was resolved peacefully before the arrival of a requested Georgia State Patrol SWAT Team. The suspect was taken into custody without injury to deputies or civilians. An additional individual at the scene was also arrested on unrelated charges stemming from a prior investigation.
In a separate incident on Friday, March 27, investigators executed a search warrant at a residence on Grady School Road as part of an ongoing burglary case. Two individuals were arrested in connection with the break-ins of storage units across Franklin County.

Officials with the sheriff’s office credited the coordinated efforts of patrol deputies and investigators for the successful resolution of both cases.
The sheriff’s office is also urging residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious or criminal activity. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office by phone at 706-384-2525 or by email at [email protected].
