FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ga. – Authorities in northeast Georgia have arrested two suspects following a multi-agency investigation into a string of commercial burglaries spanning two counties.
On April 17, 2026, the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Canon Police Department and the Lavonia Police Department, executed a search warrant at a residence on Hartwell Road in Lavonia. The warrant was tied to an ongoing investigation into multiple commercial burglaries reported in Franklin County and Hart County.
Following a weeks-long investigation conducted by the criminal investigations divisions of both counties’ sheriff’s offices, as well as local police departments, two individuals were taken into custody. Authorities identified the suspects as Isaac J. Simms, 33, and Levi N. Simms, 31.
Both men face charges related to burglaries in the cities of Canon and Lavonia. Officials said additional charges are expected to be filed in Hart County as the investigation continues.
Law enforcement agencies involved credited coordinated efforts among multiple jurisdictions for the arrests. Authorities are encouraging anyone with information related to ongoing investigations or criminal activity to contact the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.
